Athletics Day!

The grass tickled my feet as I walked along the field, it was Athletics Day and Takahe was going win this year! I could feel a knot tied around my waist and every step I took towards the track it tightened up. We had Long Distance first the most breath taking sport, I lunged towards to the track and placed my foot behind the white line. It was like we were  in a slow motion movie when everyone tried to squeeze onto the shorter grass. People fell, slipped and walked along the way but I tried my hardest to not do those things. I could hear dozens of people taking huge breaths and so did I.

Rocks were glued onto my feet as I sat down drinking water, I had just pasted the finished line and I got 4 points for Takahe. I laid down onto the thick grass and looked at the grey clouds, I thought it was going to rain but the clouds seemed to look at me happily. Is that bad or good? I couldn't tell but my day was just about to start.

C.S.N.S Jammers!

On Friday 5th of November 2016, the College Street Normal School Jump Jam team came 3rd in the Advanced Open Jump Jam Nationals in Tauranga. I had the best time of my life traveling with our Jump Jam team! I had so much fun I came home missing our Hotel (The Reef). The Hotel had a MASSIVE pool and hot pool that we got to swim in, the pool was one the highlights of the trip. Also the hotel was opposite a beach and we got to see fireworks and light up Sparklers. On the night we competed Jump Jam Nationals we went to Lone Star to celebrate our achievement, the food we ordered was delicious and I could off ate another 10 bowls! While the trip lasted I had hang out with people that I would never talk too, I made more friends that I never knew liked the same things as me. Now I am really good friends with Milla, Lucy, Ayah and even the teachers! I will never forget this trip, and as I leave for Intermediate I will miss these days.

I also want to thank the parents and the teachers that helped with food, makeup, driving, taking care of us and all the things that a you think they will do. I can't imagine you guys not there to help, and if you weren't there, we wouldn't never made it to today, I want to thank you guys SOO MUCH!!! :D

Ivory Coast

Ivory Coast Ivory Coast is a country in Africa, that is famous for its cocoa production and it is the world's biggest producer of cocoa. Ivory Coast also has another name which is Côte D’Ivoire. Ivory Coast has a population is 20.2 million in their country. Ivory Coast has 11 Athletes competing in the 2016 Olympics, Ivory Coast has only won 1 silver medal in 1984 in the men’s 400 meters Olympics games. Futher then Ivory Coast hasn't won any other medals for any sport.

A very popular tourist attraction in Ivory Coast is Basilica of Lady of Peace. It has been listed on the Guinness World Records for the largest church in the world with 30,000 square meters and 158 m high. It also can fit 7,000 people inside.A environment issue in Ivory Coast is water pollution, in Ivory Coast the people have markets probably every week and in those markets their sell very cheap phone. People go there and buy new phones then the week after their buy a better phone and then buys that one. Then what happens to the old phone? The people either throw in in the water/pond/river or rubbish and sometimes the rubbish goes in the sea/etc. ( This is only one type of reason) But Ivory Coast has a solution to solve it Ivory Coast has 25 experts that are cleaning up the polluted areas with 60 tonnes from Europe and they are cleaning it up.

Ivory Coast’s flag is like the Ireland flag but the green and orange is the other way around. Ireland Flag                         Ivory Coast Flag
The Ivory Coast flag was chosen on December 3, 1959. The orange represents the savanna grasslands, green represents the coastal forests, and then the white represents the country's rivers. This design is modeled after the French Tricolore.Did you know that Ivory Coast……The capital of Ivory Coast is Yamoussoukro The country has 124,502 square meters of land.47% of Adults in Ivory Coast can read. The official Language of Ivory Coast is French but many other local languages are still used like Dioula, Baoule, Dan and Anyin.

I would definitely want to visit Ivory Coast if I had the chance! ‍‍‍‍

My Role in the Production

This year College Street Normal School is doing an Production about Cinderella & Rockerfella. My roles in the production are Talent Show Gymnast, Time Dance and Ball. The Talent Show Gymnast is when Ava, Amber, Milla, Mackenzie, Hazel, Eden, Rebecca and I go on stage and perform an act using Cartwheels, Handstands and that stuff. Kate who is acting as Danny (Rockerfella's Manager) and says no to us. So the talent show is like the X Factor. We perform an 1 minute act and then go off stage. I am also in the Time Dance. The Time Dance is a dance when Cinderella is nearly late to go home and it is nearly Midnight. The girls in our class do a dance about time and fairies come on and fixs our hands.

Another Role is the Ball. The Ball is like a after-party for Rockerfella's concert, we dance to a song  f hunch bug called "There's a party here tonight" and then the C.S.N.S Band plays.

All of my roles in the production are really FUN! I am really glad that I am in College Street Normal School to have this chance to perform

My favoirite thing in Gri11 2.0

My Favourite thing GRi11 2.0 this year is the way we learn. I like learning this year because  99%  is on devices. Our work is all on Fast Track- which is is on Google Sheets and we have tasks to do and we find it on classroom, and when we are done we fill our boxes green.)  We sometimes have tick-a boxes- which is used on Google Forms and our teachers give us some questions and we below them they are a few answers and we dot the one we think is right.) Also we have different workshops about the tasks we don't know how to do like Problem Solving, and Writing Narritives, etc.We get to choose what workshops we want to go to because we know what we need help on, then we put our names on the teachers timetable- which is a doc and on the doc their is links that we put our names in for the workshops. Learning this way helps me with my learning because I know what I need to learn not what the teachers makes me do.

"You eat like a PIG Lulu."

The sun was smiling and the clouds were cheerful. Lulu and Tommy were in Norsville reserve park searching for a super rare flower called the ballerina tutti. Lulu was the pet of the Princess Nala and Tommy was the pet of SuperMan. Lulu was a perfectionist so she had a little carriage pulled by one of her servants. Tommy was more energetic and liked the out outdoors and Lulu was more of a indoor person. Tommy and Lulu were trying to find the rare flower " Ballerina Tutii" and take it back to the museum of Paris. This flower had been stolen in the past few days and Tommy and Lulu had to find it.

When Tommy got tired Lulu told her servants " Picnic Please!" And then came her 2 servants- Mata & Casta. Mata was a bunny and Casta was a Chicken. Tommy licked his lips and began eating some grass beside him then realized that lulu was watching and began to eat a few biscuits while Lulu took a raspberry and vanilla cupcake. " YOU HAVE DOG BREATH TOMMY!" Lulu said, "* Hmph *WELL YOU EAT LIKE A PIG LULU!" Tommy replied. Just then Lulu heard something that sounded like digging, Lulu immediately told everyone to follow her and be quiet. Until.........

Tommy sneezed and the two rascals ran. Tommy flew in the sky while Lulu sprinted downwards them. The two rascals accidentally left the flower behind and Lulu and Tommy kind of saved the day! Lulu and Tommy decided to eat a chocolate brownie and the two went back into Lulu's carriage and went back to Norville. The day hadn't ended and their owners hadn't suspected anything.
TO BE CONTINUED...........

Coaching the Seniors at Sports Rotation

On Tuesdays I get to teach the Seniors at Sports Rotation, Sports Rotation is a time so we get to play different sports. Badminton is my favorite sport and I'm glad that I get to teach it. Today me and Joonoh got to teach the seniors and I was super excited. Mr Liddel's class came first and I could tell she was happy to see us. When we taught them we had to talk louldly because we were in a small splace, everyone was listening and I felt like the star of the show but soon we had to start teaching them how to hit the shuttle up and up again. After that we told them that we could play GAMES! Everyone was happy. The class was very polite and behaved very well that they got to play games for about 10 minutes. We gave them tips to improve on their skills and when we had to stop Mrs Liddel blew her whistle and it was time to go. Everyone put their rackets away and said Thank You to us and it was about time the other class came. " Oh No " I said in my head.

A fun day with my BFFL!

" ANGELA!" I hugged her tightly and so did she. We haven't met in a year and it seems like forever!!
I was super excited that we didn't know what to say to each other. But as soon as we started talking we couldn't stop! Over the year we have done things we both have in common like we both have musical.lys and we kept on singing the song while we were getting changed. As we got into the pool , "Brrrr!" It was cold but we kept splashing each other and finally we weren't cold and decided to go to the deep end. The pool was 1 meter and 35 but it felt like 2 meters.

Angela and I were swimming freaks and loved swimming then we did the silliest mistake ever to go on the massive slide. The slide took 2 minutes to walk up the stairs but I think it was worth it in the end. Angela went first and I heard her scream so that made me kind-of scared, but I sacrificed my life to go down that slide and the slide was pitch black at the start and would have a few places which are blue. When I got down Angela tried to scare me but her neon pink togs were very easy to spot. The slide was very addictive so we went on like 20 more times. Then once Angela went down right after me so we were about to crash but she push me and she tried to slow down and the life guard looked at us like we were crimals and we swam away quickly. We went back to the deep end and made a raft and we actually floated! But when our mums told us that we had to leave our faces immediately went down , I think Angela and me were thinking the same thing "NOOOO!" But we had didn't have a choice so slowly we left.

But this was the BEST DAY EVER!

Swimming Sports

I was SO pumped yesterday because it was SWIMMING SPORTS! In swimming sports I had compete against the Senior Syndicate ! I started with the Non-Champion swimming sports. I signed up backstroke and freestyle. When the non-champion freestyle was about to begin I was as nervous as a first time performer, but I had hope. When the teacher blew the whistle I swam as hard as I could. I came 1st. Straight after the boys backstroke it was the girls backstroke and I was very VERY excited. BAM! The whistle blew and I was coming 1st but Holly.V caught up to me and i came 2nd, but at least I wasn't the worst.

After 15 mins the real champion swimming sports started. I was put in freestyle and backstroke and I was super chilled and relaxed because it was really fun in the non-champion swimming sports. When the freestyle started I was really pumped up and came 2nd and for backstroke I came 2nd too.

The last race I had was the takahē relay. I couldn't even believe the teachers chose me! In our team their was me, Gihara, Cole, and Fergus. I was the one to start and when I dove in my goggles got water in them but that didn't stop me I kept swimming and Fergus took off. Our team was coming 3rd but when cole took off we came 2nd.

Today was the best day EVER!!!

The Ride Of My Life !

I patiently waited in line , looking into the line in front of me I saw less people than before. I was going explode if I the line was going to go any slower " I've been waiting FOREVER ! " I said to my mum. My mum said nodded and I was SO BORED! Plus I was stuck with this super annoying little girl , and all she does is talk and wander around." What are mums suppose to do these days , just stand there and talk?!" But I was seriously going to fall asleep if ......... "Anneka ! Come on get on the ride !"My mum said . I was so excited I nearly tripped over myself, but got on the ride . I got seated and waited for the ride to get started .

VROOM ! The ride went off. I was really chilled and relaxed but until the ride went backwards and faster . But on he third time I really nearly had a heart attack because it went SO  fast I feel like I nearly fell off! When the ride ended I was really dizzy but I LOVED IT !

Weetbixs TRYathlon

I was shivering in the icy cold rain, I felt like I was taking a cold shower and I had to stand their in my TOGS! I was chattering with my teeth and I was my goose bumps on my arms .All I could think about was how cold the pool was going to be . Soon I was seated on the concrete seats and was contsinly moving forwards onto the seat in front of us . Once I was in the front row I was chattering really loudly and really wanted to go to th bathroom.

SPLASH ! We took off ,I was do freestyle and until I got tired I swam Backstroke for the rest of the way. After 100m of swimming I hopped out of the pool and ran to my bike. On the way there I heard my Mum shout GO ANNEKA! I felt more ethsiastic to finishing the TRYathlon. I sprinted torwards my bike and ot changed in to weetbixs top and hopped on my bike and left off. I biked in front of a lot people and felt like I was in a race to WIN SOMETHING. When I finshed the 4km bike ride I took my helmet off and started to run.

Soon I finished the 2km run which was like 1000km!I saw the finish line and raced torwards it and when I got my medal the sun seemed to smile at me.  I was SO proud of myself!!!

Sixtus Logde Camp!

The car drove over the rocky rode and dust blew on the car windows. I imagined all the entertaining activities we would be doing. When we got to Sixtus Lodge we got settled into our dorm rooms . Our teachers told us that we would be going onto a 1-2 hour tramping trip. When we started to walk for a while  I got tired and I definitely oozed out of my comfort zone. When the trip ended I felt proud of myself for reaching the end.
Random photo in the middle of the tramp.

The next day I was juiced up when I heard that we went horse riding . I love horse riding because the horses a SO CUTE! But my heart still beat faster and faster when the thought of horse riding because we had to ride the horses ourselves. The horse I rode was Koko , Koko was a black , male horse . Koko seemed to behave for a while but when I went onto the challenge course Koko was really naughty . Finally after the challenge course I hope off the Koko and say bye bye and left.

A hour later we went to the river walk! I was so excited because we would be able to go into the water and see glow worms! I was a dog waging its tail . I was ready to dip my feet into the icey cold water, and I was still really tired from horse riding but I couldn't wait ! When we went down the slippery path I held tight onto the rope and went down deep into the forest. A little river was floing and i skipped over the tiny lake and into the cave. I took my torch out but it was no point because we were actually in a revine. I look up at the lime trees above us ......I was speechless it was something I've never seen before , beauty and nature was what my eyes were staring at. Sence it was the afternoon the glow worms in the cave were invisable but it kind of seeable because it looked like a wet spider web.

Group 2 about to start the river walk.

After the tramp I was so tired that I could eat a whole cow. It was the best tramp ever!

My favorite place to lean in GRi11 2.0

In GRi11 2.0 this Term we have been learning about the 4 elements of HAUORA . Green for Social , Blue for relaxation, Red for physical and Yellow for metal and emotion. We have 4 class spaces; the Hall of Fame is all of them. The Hideout is Blue for relaxation and a silent room. The Hangout is green like The Hub is the Social room where you can talk to your friends and also work at the same time. I like this area because I don't like being silent and I like sitting next to my friends.

My favourite place to learn in GRi11 2.0 is the hub ,under the foosball table or behind the book shelf . This area is a small hideout where me and my friends can hide and do work, in this area there is a table and beanbags and a foosball table so we can work. I also like this area because the girls tote trays are right next to it and it it easy to get to it . I also like the Hub because you can talk and ask questions because in the other rooms its mostly silent. But we can work and talk but in the end we finish a lot of work too.Sometimes we make jokes and have a crack up but after we get back to work immediately go back to work.

It's kind of a secret place. Sometimes the teachers don't even realise that we are here. These are the reasons I like the Hub.
